Francesca was born on January 25th 1976 in Parma,
where she still lives.
She was fond of photography since teenager, but her
hobby became a job after she got involved with the
rugby sport world. Francesca starts photographing
this sport in 2003, becoming then the official photo-reporter
of the team Gran Rugby Parma. In the summer 2004 she
worked as Beach Rugby Championship official photographer.
At the end of the 2004 Francesca was endorsed photo-reporter
of the LIRE (Italian Rugby Premier League). During the
2005 first half, Francesca studied fashion photography
at the Milan European Design Institute, where she
approached a kind of photography entirely different
from the sport archetype, achieving in this way a
more skilled and versatile professionalism. Moving
from an idea by Enzo Barbieri the person in
charge for the LIRE events- in October 2005 a book
of her photos has been published with the title 'Diario
Italia Rugby', a selection of images intended to describe
the emotions caught through a whole rugby championship
year. Her friends Festuccia, Castrogiovanni, Pozzebon
and Masi collaborated for the volume. A new edition
of the book ('Diario Italia Rugby 2') is nowadays
under progress and will be in all the bookshops from
September 2006. This issue is also prepared together
with Enzo Barbieri, with the cooperation of the maestro
Alfonso Borghi and Andrea De Rossi, Paolo Vaccari,
Valerio Bernabo, Robert Barbieri. Francesca is actually
working to a top-secret project, whose more details
will be disclosed around the end of the year. Moreover,
she is in fact following other sports as well, such
as the Italian A series Soccer Championship, marathons
and bicycle rides (in collaboration with the Foto
Studio 5 agency) and she is appointed photographer
of the Mysticfreeride team, a group of guys practising
downhill in summertime and freeride during the winter.
Her photos are
also published on 'Gazzetta dello Sort', 'Rugby!',
'La Meta', 'Gazzetta di Parma'.
In January and February Francesca worked for the 'Turin
2006 Winter Olympic Games as Venue Photo Manager of
the Freestyle track in Sauze dOulx. She is solely
utilizing Nikon digital equipment, and belongs to
the NPS (Nikon Professional Service), in addition
to her partnership in TAU visual, the Italian Professional
Photographers Association.
